Author bundles called Cozy Power success: It hasn't been out long enough to judge how much it helps all of us, but this group has been working together to expand our readership and a boxed set of our book #1s seemed like a no-brainer!
Amazon grouping an Author’s series of novels: I think it's great. It also makes it possible to run an ad on Facebook or wherever and point people to the SERIES page instead of one book if you have a couple books on sale.
Primary genre: Mystery
Kindle Unlimited: I make more with page reads than I do with straight sales, so that was an easy decision to make. It makes me a little sad not being able to make my books "wide" (available on itunes, etc.) but financially KU makes more sense for me.
Reader list: I have a list of about 60k. Having your own list is really important. I grow the list using AuthorsXP.com mailing list builders. AuthorsXP.com and sometimes Facebook ads.
Getting reviews: I have a "street team" of about 40 readers. Whenever I have a new book, I send them the book to read and then when it goes live I get 20-30 reviews in the first week or so from them. After that, the book is selling so it gets it's own reviews.

I first knew I wanted to be a writer at seven, knew it was mysteries I'd write at 12, was desperate to win the Edgar at 13, but became a journalist to...well...keep from starving till I had the courage to actually try it. I had a great time and learned more than ten colleges could have taught as a reporter for first the New Orleans Times-Picayune and later the San Francisco Chronicle. Finally, I wrote six or seven mysteries (I've lost count!) over a period of eight years, to absolutely no avail, and was about to give up when I made my first sale. DEATH TURNS A TRICK was my first published book, and the Rebecca Schwartz series was born. I later added a second San Francisco series, plus two in New Orleans, and guess what? My first New Orleans book, NEW ORLEANS MOURNING, won the Edgar for Best Novel.
So some dreams come true! Boy, it was hard, and it took forever, but mine actually did. I'm still pinching myself. After wanting something so much and finally getting it, who would have thought I'd turn to something else after twenty-one books? (That's right, twenty-one not counting a non-fiction one on writing itself. So, twenty-two, really.) My whole identity was writing. But along came ebooks! Suddenly a gigantic opportunity opened up. I realized I could be a publisher myself---I could help other people achieve their own dreams. I couldn't help it, I got the publishing bug. Bad.

Lalla is no Danielle Steele character & she's not afraid of chipping her manicure. Scratch that, the girl doesn't have time for a manicure what with herding recalcitrant pilots and juggling work orders just to keep her father's flagging business alive.
And beginning with A Dead Red Alibi, Lalla and family move to South East Arizona where she and cousin, Pearlie Bains, will continue to their hard earned license as Wishbone, Arizona's tenaciously annoying blonde P.I.s.
