NEXT: Return of the Wolfe is available for pre-order now, with delivery on September 11, 2020. I’m a lover of characters who also appreciate and respect the world around them. This is the first book in a new series called, Love of the Land.
Social media: Way back in the day the only connection you had with readers was either at a conference, an in-person book signing, or through an active newsletter. I can still remember printing, folding, stamping and mailing hundreds of newsletters each month. Fortunately, social media—especially Twitter, Facebook, and newsletter services—have made connecting with readers and other authors a fairly easy process.
Appearances: I teach a quarterly class at the local community college on the basics of writing a novel and try to do at least one library appearance a year.
Book trailers: My readers seem to love my trailers, a couple of them even winning awards. Trailers for my own books are fairly easy to imagine, because I’ve already imagined the book. I’ll usually write a script using only the blurb.
Audio books: As much as I enjoyed the audio book process, I’ve not seen a significant change in my reader demographic.
Last Chance Beach short story collection: It did gain me some new followers whom I hope will jump around the genres the way I do when I write.
Romance Gems association: Support. Friendship. The occasional virtual slap upside the head when it’s needed. I think the biggest professional benefit would be the encouragement of 22 like-minded authors who will bend over backward to see their Gems Sisters succeed.
Primary genre: My author tagline is “Jumping Across Genres with Gleeful Abandon” – and I’m pretty true to that motto.
