Author Description:
Bestselling author P.C. Zick describes herself as a storyteller no matter what she writes. And she writes in a variety of genres, including romance, contemporary fiction, and creative nonfiction. She's won various awards for her essays, columns, editorials, articles, and fiction.
The three novels in her Florida Fiction Series contain stories of Florida and its people and environment, which she credits as giving her a rich base for her storytelling. She says her, "Florida's quirky and abundant wildlife--both human and animal--supply my fiction with tales almost too weird to be believable."
P.C. writes both sweet and steamy romances. The sweet contemporary romances in her Smoky Mountain Romances, are set in southwest North Carolina. Another sweet romance series, Rivals in Love, contains two books with four more in the works. All six follow the Crandall family of Chicago as the siblings find love despite their focus on successful careers.
Her steamy romances go from Florida to Long Island. The Behind the Love series, set in a small fictional town in Florida, feature a community of people who form bonds as they learn to overcome the challenges of their youth. Her Montauk Romances are set in and around Long Island and feature simple, yet sophisticated beach houses designed with romance in mind. The two books in this set are filled with steamy scenes as love grows and thrives.
No matter the genre of novel, they all contain elements of romance with strong female characters, handsome heroes, and descriptive settings. She believes in living lightly upon this earth with love, laughter, and passion, and through her fiction, she imparts this philosophy in an entertaining manner with an obvious love for her characters, plot, and themes.

Eclectic Leanings
- Musings from a Writer's Soul: Essays, Creative Nonfiction, and Short Stories
Delve into the mind of a writer who explores diverse topics such as politics, conch fritters, and Whale Bob, a magical fish that can never be caught.
Award-winning author P.C. Zick offers up a collection of her writings, which span the course of more than two decades. The collection contains her columns, blog posts, editorials, creative nonfiction, and short stories. Many of them won recognition at state and national levels. Eclectic Leanings offers a little bit for all reading tastes.
The pieces begin with her first published essay in 1998 about her mother. She writes about birth, Alzheimer’s, and death as she recounts personal stories. Exploration of the aftermath of 9/11 and her own personal 9/11 express universal grief for tragic endings. But there are lighter moments as well when she encounters a woman and her sperm doll. Her quest for the perfect conch fritter ends with metaphors for life and waiting for a revolution results in a bouquet of flowers. She recounts her journeys to Morocco, Panama, Italy, Chile, and good old Route 66 in the U.S.A.
There are sighs and tears and laughter within the pages of Eclectic Leanings. And hopefully, thoughtful musings from the writer will bring civil and considerate discussion even when we disagree.

Civil War Journal of a Union Soldier
Do you love history? Are you interested in the Civil War? Then this book is one you're sure to enjoy.
Here is the personal account of a Union soldier during the Civil War when young men were forced to kill their own countrymen.
Harmon Camburn signed up for duty as a Union soldier two weeks after the first shots were fired in the Civil War. He served for the next three years. He was present at both Battles of Bull Run and other skirmishes of the War Between the States, including the Battle of Fredericksburg. His tour of duty ended with a shot through his lung and capture by Confederate soldiers. Fortunately, he survived his wounds and wrote about his time in the Union army.
His great granddaughter, author Patricia Camburn (P.C.) Zick, presents this journal along with additional annotations about the war in general. The journal weaves a tragic and compelling tapestry of war from the view at its center. Mr. Camburn's sardonic and realistic view of war is worth remembering.
From the day of his enlistment in the Army in April 1861 in Adrian, Michigan, to his final days in the service of the army near Knoxville, Tennessee, the journal provides insight into the minutiae of a soldier's life, from what they ate to the somewhat unorthodox method of obtaining food. It shows the horror of the battlefield to the joys of simply having the sun shine after days of rain. The descriptions of the landscape are beautifully crafted, just as the descriptions of scattered bodies on the battlefield are ghastly reminders of the cost of war.
