Author Description:
On Mikey's first day at school he discovered the wondrous world that is The Book Corner, and he has never really left it.

On writing, Mikey says: "I love the savage magic of wordcraft - it's edgy, exciting and much harder work than everyone thinks."

He lives in the UK on the edge of the wilds of Dartmoor, with his wife, two children, and a Labrador called Lottie. He has more books than are strictly necessary, but not quite enough to have his house reclassified as a library. Apparently.

You can find out more on Mikey's website: mikeycampling.com

You can also get exclusive free books, free audio stories and free artwork by joining his mailing list at: mikeycampling.com/freebooks

Now we bring you the anecdote:
Mikey has had lunch with the late Sir Terry Pratchett a couple of times. And you'll be pleased to know that Sir Terry was just as warm and humorous as his books.

Interview Excerpt

Next: The next release will be the second book in my Downlode Heroes series, and it will be called The Trust. It is currently at the final edit stage, so it should be released within a month - I'll put it up for pre-order for a couple of weeks to give the fans a chance of grabbing it at a lower price

Social media has some value in providing extra value to my readers, e.g. I have a Facebook group for my street team, and I try to deliver snippets from my daily life, photos and so on, but I don' think that it brings in many new readers. I don't see social media as effective promotion for direct sales. I prefer to share things that I genuinely think are interesting or humorous, or both.

Covers: Most of my covers are made by me. I do have a background in designing websites and I enjoy the process. I also like having that degree of control and the freedom to change the covers easily if I change the tag line. I'll ask my street team for their opinions when I'm trying out new covers…

I've always loved the short story format, so they are done more for the love of the craft than for sales reasons. There is one novella, Breaking Ground, which I did write to give a flavour of my Darkeningstone books, and that novella is free on all platforms.

SciFi Short Story: The God Machine isn't a collection but a collaborative short story. The three other writers wrote a chunk each, and then I rewrote it and expanded it into a unified piece. We intended to develop this into a series, but the challenge of getting several people to collaborate have defeated us so far.

Giveaways: I have given away thousands of books, and it's part of the process of finding new readers. My mantra is that I'd rather have a reader than a customer. I hope that people will go on to buy my other books…

Newsletter: Having collected a list of subscribers, the important thing is to make sure you serve your readers, so I go out of my way to make it a worthwhile experience for my subscribers. I'm sure it helps sales eventually, and it helps with reviews.

Amazon Author Profile

Author Description:
With more than one million books sold to date, Adam Croft is one of the best-selling crime and thriller authors in the world.

His 2015 worldwide bestselling psychological thriller HER LAST TOMORROW became one of the biggest selling books of the year with over 150,000 copies sold in the first five months, and has since been in development for television.

In 2016 he was featured by The Guardian as one of the biggest selling authors of the year, and regularly takes part in discussions and panels on publishing and the future of books.

In February 2017, ONLY THE TRUTH became a worldwide bestseller, reaching storewide number 1 at both Amazon US and Amazon UK, making it the bestselling book in the world at that moment in time. The same day, Amazon's overall Author Rankings placed Adam as the mostly widely read author in the world, with J.K. Rowling in second place.

Adam has been featured on BBC television, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live, the BBC World Service, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, The Bookseller and a number of other news and media outlets.

Interview Excerpt

Next: My next book is entitled IN HER IMAGE, out on 1 May 2017.

Social media: Simply having a few thousand Twitter followers doesn't necessarily convert into book sales. It's helped to build working relationships a few times, which have been very productive, but I don't think it's really a platform for generating sales. It's not really affected my book launch process, either

Covers: I have a fantastic designer who can work wonders with just a basic plot outline provided by me. He then comes back with a couple of design ideas, and we refine one until there's a cover design everyone is happy with.

Audio books: Yes, the audio audience is fairly distinct from the ebook and paperback audiences, but there is some crossover. I get a decent number of WhisperSync sales, whereby people who own the ebook can also add on the audio at a reduced cost and flit between the two seamlessly.

You have written a Kindle Single novella called Gone: I don't think it had any impact on novel sales — not that I can measure, anyway. In terms of style, my writing tends to veer towards the shorter, leaner end anyway. My novels are 50-70k at the most…

Bundling: Box sets are an absolutely must for indie authors. They are regularly my biggest sellers, and without taking any noticeable sales away from the constituent books. Box sets are big business.

Giveaways: It gives readers a chance to sample my books without any financial outlay. They have the option to buy the next book and carry on reading the series if they like it, but of course that's entirely up to them. It gives them a no-obligation way of seeing whether or not they like my books.

My biggest audience is in the UK, and always has been. It's a market that lots of authors tend to ignore and neglect, instead going after the bigger piece of the pie in the US. That's a very crowded market, however. There's a lot of pie to be had in other, less congested markets such as Canada and Australia.

New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Tarryn Fisher is cooler than you, but not one to rub it in your face. She graduated first in her class at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is a lover of human nature, and a real life villain (House of Slytherin). Her heart is dark, but she loves you with it anyway. Currently she lives in Washington with her son and daughter, and just finished her ninth novel, Bad Mommy, which is now available.

Interview Excerpt

Next: My next book is a romance. It's called Atheists Who Kneel and Pray. I alternate between psychological suspense and romance when I write and I don't know what's more depressing: human psychology or love.

Personal appearances: This year I have some really fun events planned. I have a retreat in Port Townsend, Washington in June at a winery called Marrowstone Vineyard. In April I'll be singing at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado for the Love N' Books event. And in September I'm hosting a writer's retreat in Seattle for aspiring authors where they will be able to take workshops with some of their favorite authors. You can find all the information on my website at tarrynfisher@gmail.com.

Novellas: Any type of publishing has a positive impact on your books. It broadens your audience and gives variety.

Marketing yourself through social media and developing a strong platform is important for your career and should be handled with attention and care.

A novella series (Never Never) with Colleen Hoover: Colleen and I work really well together. I think the priority was our friendship and we always put that first in making decisions. Because there was mutual respect everything was done with humility and consideration. I don't recall us ever disagreeing which is a rare thing among two artists.

Zach Fortier was a police officer for over 30 years, specializing in K-9, SWAT, gang, domestic violence and sex crimes as an investigator. He has written three books about Police work. "Curbchek" the first book is a case by case account of the streets as he worked them from the start of his 30 career. "Streetcreds" the second book details time Zach Spent in a Gang task force and the cases that happened. The third book is by far the most gritty: "Curbchek-Reload". In Reload Zach is damaged and dangerously so and suffering from PTSD and the day to day violence of working the street. If you like True Crime, take a look at Zach Fortier.

Interview Excerpt

Next: The next book I have planned is the second book in The Director Series. It is a fictional account of what happens after Baroota: The Hunting Ground.

Social media: In my opinion social media is way over rated in book promotion. I worked twitter hard at first and saw no results. What works is book marketing to book readers. Simple as that.

I have tried nearly every avenue out there for promotion of the books I have written. I haven’t found any personal interview, media or speaking engagement that has had a tenth of the impact book marketing has had on sales.

Covers: I did paid a team at first to do my covers and I liked the results. However as the relationship went on they felt they had some say, or implied control over my writing and timelines. I would recommend caution there. Do your own work and let no one else control it.

Audio books are a completely different venue and have their own following of fans. I have done well there and I do recommend it. I use ACX.

Writer support groups: I recommend groups that are there to support you. But be careful, many say they are there to support you and then take all of your ideas and share none of their own. I also recommend cross genre contacts.

Reader list: The only reader list I have is a group of people who have been there from the start and will give me honest feedback. I expect bad reviews and use them to my advantage. I want honest well written reviews. I have found they often times will generate more sales than a positive review.

Author Description:
Angela Henry was once told that her past life careers included spy, researcher, and investigator. She stuck with what she knew because today she's a mystery writing library reference specialist, who loves to people watch and eavesdrop on conversations. She's the author of four mysteries featuring equally nosy amateur sleuth Kendra Clayton, and is also the founder of the award-winning MystNoir website, which promotes African-American mystery writers, and was named a "Hot Site" by USA Today.com. When she's not working, writing, or practicing her stealth, she loves to travel, is connoisseur of B horror movies, and an admitted anime addict. She lives in Ohio and is currently hard at work trying to meet her next deadline.

Interview Excerpt

Next: My next book will be Doing it to Death, the sixth book in my Kendra Clayton mystery series. I hope to have it out sometime this summer.

Social media has had a positive impact on my building my readership. My first book was published at a time when authors relied solely on their publishers to market and promote their books. Nowadays, whether you're a traditionally published author or self-published, book marketing and promotion is up to you. Social media can have a big impact on getting the word out about your books.

Book trailer: I actually created that book trailer myself using an online service called Animoto and some free stock photography. I have no idea if it's had any effect on my book sales. But I had a lot of fun making it. I view book trailers as just one piece of a bigger picture when it comes to marketing and promoting.

It's hard to say if my audio books have had an impact on my book sales. But I think it's to an author's advantage to have their books available in as many formats as possible, including foreign editions.

Bundling: Digital boxed sets are very popular right now and my reason for bundling my first three books is to introduce readers to my Kendra Clayton series at a lower price point than buying the books separately. Typically people who've picked up the boxed set, go on to purchase the next two books, as well as my other, non Kendra books.

Other languages: I've not marketed my foreign translations beyond the occasional price reduction. I've had sales so I know people are reading the books. Since I don't speak Spanish or Portuguese it would be hard to actively market my titles abroad.

Post with Profile + Interview: HBS Author's Spotlight

Amazon Author Profile

Author Description:
Jack Thanatos is a visionary of a fictional existence, a specter of Reality. He mentally harbors the world around him, watching the strings pulled and writes a supernatural infused version of what he sees. Real life has a way of getting away from us with the daily grind forcing us away from what we truly wish for ourselves.

Jack merely wishes to bring the world back to one of simpler means, a world governed by ancient gods and new deities pulling the strings that normal folks shouldn't naturally have the ability to even know about. A world where the Dreaming and Reality can work together as friends with benefits. A world where Cyberspace is a place that can be physically traversed.

The Djinn universe will encompass each and every entry into Jack's anthology. The characters will work within the same limitations (or lack thereof). The hope is that once this is all done, every reader will look at the fragile existence around them with a slightly more skeptical attitude, that maybe these beings could really be hanging out behind the scenes.

"I spend all my time in The Dreaming and The Netherworld, making my way through the Djinn lifestyle. It is my dream one day to reach the forbidden realms of Tartarus and Machina, but until I learn my way, I'll have to stumble through the daily obstacles."

Interview Excerpt

Next: I have a few ideas rolling around in my head. I have to get working on the next installment of The Gods of Chaos, which heads into the bowels of Tartarus. The core concept will borrow from the 9 Circles of Hell in Dante’s Inferno and adapt them to modern times, as well as my Djinn Universe.

Social media: Twitter is my crutch. I have met a lot of great people, and picked up almost all of my loyal readers from there. It worked in ways that Facebook didn’t help at all. I found strangers that were willing to beta read my books and provide feedback. Not to mention, I wouldn’t have been able to come up with certain urban myths that I used in Poacher Hunters…

Covers: I’m extremely hands on and a control freak. My first set of cover art was created using acrylic paint. I didn’t have a firm grasp on Photoshop at the time. But over the last 3 years, I’ve learned so much about digital art. I know I still have much to figure out, but the challenge is what keeps me going

Short stories: The idea behind The Djinn Trials was to tell stories outside of the narrative of Jackie Boy in The Gods of Chaos. The shorties were littered within the original versions. I ended up taking most of them out to focus the narrative, which really helped push that series to the next level.

Free books: I’m not going to say that the freebie giveaways were a bust, but financially, they hurt my pocketbook.

Reader list: Twitter made it easy to keep track of my readers from there, although I’ve seen many of my older readers disappear by Twitterciding, or deleting their accounts. That’s when I realized I needed another approach. I’m pushing for people to sign up to my newsletter on www.thedjinntrials.com so they can keep in the loop.

Reviews, as any indie author knows, are hard to come by. One method for acquiring them may work sometimes, but doesn’t work all the time. My first novel, Dreaming, has 47 Amazon reviews (42 US and 5 UK), but that took about 3 years to acquire. I haven’t seeked professional reviews, but that may be something I’ll search out for my next novel.

Author Description:
Nancy S. Thompson is the award-winning author of the dark romantic thrillers, The Mistaken and Leverage, and Stirred, a contemporary romantic suspense. She is a California transplant currently living in Seattle, Washington with her husband. Besides moonlighting as a freelance editor, she also has her own interior design business within the model home merchandising industry.

Interview Excerpt

Next: I’m working on my fourth book, a romantic political/military thriller tentatively titled AGAINST ORDERS

Social media: I’m a little torn over Twitter. When I sold my first book, my publisher told me I had to tweet multiple times every single day. They even sent me to a Twitter course! And while I don’t really enjoy tweeting, I feel now I have to keep it up because perhaps some of my sales are generated from there. Who knows…

Personal appearances: I’m doing the 2017 Readers & Writers Seattle book signing event in June, and I’m hoping to attend Fictionally Yours Melbourne in Australia in September. I do enjoy interviews. I even did a one-hour live interview on LA Talk Radio a couple years ago.

Book trailers: My first one (The Mistaken) was made before many authors even produced trailers for books. I hired that one out, and, though simple, I was specific on what I wanted. I used the online site Stupeflix to make trailers for both Leverage and Stirred myself, and I do love how they turned out. I’d like to use video images for my fourth one though. I’m not sure how well they do at actually selling books…

Audiobooks: the audiobook rights for The Mistaken and Leverage were bought by Cherry Hill Publishing. They did a great job of finding voice talent and marrying that with a great soundtrack and packaging… It's hard to say if they've had any impact on sales, but producing audiobooks allows me to reach an audience I might not otherwise be able to because they might have eyesight issues or simply not have the time to sit down and read.

Giveaways: I do the occasional paperback giveaway on Goodreads, and I’m constantly participating in promotions and giving ebooks away, especially during online review or release tours. I also donate both paperbacks (plus bookmarks) and ebooks for auctions, etc. to raise money for worthy causes.

My reviews are mostly organic, which is important to me… I use online tour companies for those book launches, and those tours usually include some bloggers who participate and provide reviews. But generally speaking, my reviews come the natural way, after a reader has purchased and read my books. Those tend to be more honest and influential.

Author Description:
Bestselling author Leslie Wolfe is passionate about writing fiction, despite spending a significant number of years climbing the corporate ladder. Leaving the coveted world of boardrooms for the blissful peace of the Florida-based "Wolves’ den," Leslie answers one true calling: writing. To date, Wolfe has published seven novels.

Leslie’s novels break the mold of traditional thrillers. Fascinated by technology and psychology, Leslie brings extensive background and research in these fields, that empower and add texture to a signature, multi-dimensional, engaging writing style.

Leslie released the first novel, Executive, in October 2011. It was very well received by the public. It was followed thereafter by Devil's Move (2014), The Backup Asset (2015), The Ghost Pattern (2015), Operation Sunset (2016), Dawn Girl (2016), and The Watson Girl (2017). Leslie’s latest novel, The Watson Girl, pushes the traditional boundaries of crime novels, bringing a rarely seen incursion inside the deepest, darkest recesses of a serial killer’s mind.

Leslie enjoys engaging with readers every day and would love to hear from you.

Interview Excerpt

Next: I’m working on a new serial killer crime thriller, this one featuring a team of two killers. It should be available around the end of March, maybe beginning of April…

Social media: I grew professionally with social media as a play buddy; I guess you could say we grew up together, although social media reached a dimension no one expected. I value it mostly for the possibility to interact with my readers, to hear their thoughts first-hand, and outside the realm of public reviews. I receive praise and criticism, and learn from both. I get questions, suggestions, even plot ideas. This has been, for me, the biggest value of building a social media following.

Great covers: Sometimes I hand over a theme, otherwise even the base image comes from me, because I feel strongly about the cover concept. But the rule has been that I let the experts be good at what they do, and they are! The process is highly collaborative, there’s a lot of back and forth, and countless revisions until we hit the spot. I also have a few beta readers who weigh in and help me choose between cover options.

Book trailers: Creating a trailer starts from creating a story board, which is, in turn, story-based. I see the video trailers as a great way to convey to my readers who I see the book in my head, playing like a movie so yes, it’s how I see the characters and scenes. Sound is also very important to me; the theme music, the special effects. It all has to fit together perfectly.

Audio books: I’m not sure if they brought me a new audience, but I felt rewarded thinking readers could rest their weary eyes after a long day at the office, and take the story with them on the living room couch, with only a dim light and a hot cup of tea.

Time Management:

I run giveaways on Goodreads, and short story giveaways to my fan group on my monthly email. Sometimes I run free days promos on Amazon. I think of the giveaways as giving gifts to my friends, so I’m not actively pursuing a certain goal, hence, no disappointment! I also support a number of charities with donations in free books and audiobooks…

Reviews: I reach out to a small number of select Amazon Vine Voices and top reviewers. Other than that, I rely on organic reviews, on my audience, and on my fans. It’s been increasingly easy to secure a relative large number of verified reviews, because readers buy the books and leave reviews, without any intervention from me.

Could it have been the smarmy competing gallery owner who was jealous of Lisa's success in getting a top art glass artisan to exhibit in her gallery? Or was it a museum employee who was fired by the woman who hosted the dinner party?

Two tech geniuses face off—one intent on saving lives, the other on ending them.

Cybersecurity expert Roger McGeary finally has his life back on track after years of struggling with depression. But when he falls from the balcony of his suite on an all-expenses-paid cruise, the police quickly dismiss it as “death by misadventure,” a vague phrase leaving much to interpretation.

Unsatisfied, Roger’s tough-as-nails aunt, Julia Miller, is determined to find answers and closure. By contacting Roger’s childhood friend Stuart Ramey to help her solve the mystery of his fate, Julia unwittingly sets up a collision course with a serial killer.

Stuart, his sidekick Cami Lee, and journalist turned amateur sleuth Ali Reynolds put the full resources of cutting edge online security firm High Noon Enterprises into learning the truth about Roger’s death. With Cami on the high seas investigating the ship from which Roger disappeared, Stuart stays tied to his computer, locked in a battle of wits and technology against an unusually twisted adversary. Aided by Frigg, an artificial intelligence companion of his own creation, the killer targets victims who have lost parents to suicide and attempts to drive them to the same tragic end.

When the heartless killer and his cyber accomplice set their sights on Stuart, High Noon must race against time to save him and countless others.

Oslo, Norway ~ 1942
Nazi Germany occupied Norway from 1940-1945...

High school chemistry teacher, Teigen Hansen, managed to dodge Nazi attention until the day he was asked to sign Vidkun Quisling’s Declaration of Loyalty and swear to teach Nazi ideals. Mass refusal put 1,000 male teachers in prison. When they still refused, 500 of them were sent to a Nazi labor camp deep inside Norway’s Arctic Circle. When Teigen is released after seven months under frigid and grueling conditions, he immediately joins Milorg—Norway’s Resistance—and becomes part of the Royal Shakespearean Acting Troupe, a traveling group of resistance workers under cover.

Because of past experiences Selby Sunde hates men, so she has no problem “dating” Nazi officers and plying them for covert information. Her resolve is rocked when Teigen Hansen joins the troupe. Untrained yet determined, he never does what she expects—but always what’s right. As their Milorg assignments grow increasingly dangerous, it’s Teigen who saves her life as together they work to defeat Norway’s enemies & traitors.

I sort of fell into the job of running a crop-dusting business when my dad decided he'd rather go on a cruise than take another season of lazy pilots, missing flaggers, testy farmers and horrific hours. After two years at the helm, I handed him back the keys and fled to a city without any of the above. And no, I was never a crop-duster.

My Lalla Bains series is about a tall, blond and beautiful ex-model turned crop-duster who, to quote Lalla Bains, has "been married so many times they oughta revoke my license." Lalla is no Danielle Steele character & she's not afraid of chipping her manicure. Scratch that, the girl doesn't have time for a manicure what with herding a bunch of recalcitrant pilots and juggling work orders just to keep her father's flagging business alive.Note: Beginning with A Dead Red Alibi, Lalla and her family will reside in South East Arizona where she will divide her time between a fledgling P.I. business with cousin, Pearlie Bains, and volunteering as a team member with Cochise County Search and Rescue.

Author Description:
Doug writes historical fiction bringing the Old West back to life while making another generation proud of the accomplishments and struggle of their ancestors. Each book is a history lesson wrapped in an riveting story.

Doug has led an exciting life. Born near New York City, a fact he very seldom admits, he learned to speak from his Cornish grandmother.

As an adult, he learned he understood Cornish slang and thought it normal speech. He also knew the whole story of Jack the Ripper and the Titanic. Grandmother was 10 and in Plymouth when the Ripper prowled. A uncle was swept away with the Unsinkable Ship. Still very young, Doug was taken West where he grew up on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation in the Rio Arriba of New Mexico among piasonos and indios. At 18 he hitchhiked to Albuquerque and enlisted in Army Intelligence.

The next decade was spent in Thailand, Taiwan and at the Pentagon and at bases so secret the Army often wouldn't say where they were. This made it difficult to comply with orders to report, but Doug is a great intel analyst and interpreted the "indicators" to track them down. One soldier almost passed out when Doug asked directions: "That's classified!" "Hey, I'm assigned there, but they won't tell me how to get there." He became an interrogator. Doug stopped in Taiwan for several years and acquired an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Returning to the US he studied Ethnography in graduate school and then returned to the Army in Armored Cavalry finding the cavalry more fun than musty tomes of forgotten lore. In Germany, he was eyeball to eyeball with the Soviet beast before it fell. His final tour of duty was the most difficult of all, trying to turn Military Intelligence lieutenants into officers. He also played a role in intelligence gathering and interpretation during the first Gulf War.

Since then Doug has earned honors with a graduate degree in US history and garnered his certificate as a field archaeologist in historical archaeology braving a summer at a wilderness camp with college students in southern Colorado excavating Fort Massachusetts. "Bears only poked their heads into the mess tent a couple of times." Doug has sold real estate, built homes, taught college and worked in the hospitality industry. He spends time exploring lost towns, ruins, old forts and trails, interpreting foundations and trash, ranging far. A trip to Guadalupe Canyon hard by the borders of Arizona-New Mexico-Sonora and Chihuahua found him stopped by Border Patrol who wanted to know his business. "I did the obvious and sold the man a copy of my novel."

At the urging of his mother, Doug began writing. His work appears regularly in Wild West Magazine and Roundup as well as True West. There are more books on the way: The Battle of Cienaguilla, Redwall Canyon, The Mystery of Chaco Canyon and Devil on the Loose.

Chris Enss is a New York Times Best Selling author, a scriptwriter and comedienne who has written for television and film, and performed on cruise ships and on stage. She has worked with award-winning musicians, writers, directors, producers, and as a screenwriter for Tricor Entertainment, but her passion is for telling the stories of the men and women who shaped the history and mythology of the American West. Some of the most famous names in history, not to mention film and popular culture, populate her books. She reveals the stories behind the many romances of William "Buffalo Bill" Cody who moved on from his career as a scout on the plains to bring the enormously successful performance spectacle of Buffalo Bill's Wild West to audiences throughout the United States and Europe between 1883 and 1916. And she tells the stories of the many talented and daring women performed alongside men in the Wild West shows, who changed the way the world thought about women forever through the demonstration of their skills. Chris brings her sensitive eye and respect for their work to her stories of more contemporary American entertainers, as well. Her books reveal the lives of John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, bringing to light stories gleaned from family interviews and archives. The most famous American couple of the 19th Century, General George Armstrong Custer and Elizabeth Bacon Custer draws her scrutiny as well. None Wounded, None Missing, All Dead reveals the personality of the fiery, lively Libbie and her lifelong effort to burnish her husband's reputation.

Chris takes readers along the trail with the Intrepid Posse as their horses thunder after the murderer of Dodge City dance hall favorite Dora Hand, and she turns her attention to the famous Sam Sixkiller, legendary Cherokee sherriff, but perhaps most extraordinary are the stories of the ordinary men and women who shaped American history when they came west as schoolmarms, gold miners, madams, and mail-order brides.

Author Description:
Tina Swayzee McCright is a multi-award winning author. While participating in the Kindle Scout program with Euphoria Lane, the first of her Homeowners Association Mysteries, she discovered her passion was writing romantic cozy mysteries.

She began her career writing romantic suspense under the name Tina LaVon. The Long and The Short Of It Reviews says "LaVon has true gift for writing sympathetically and insightfully. Even her villains are compelling and three-dimensional..."

After marrying her college sweetheart - "The Irish Charmer" - she changed her pen name to Tina Swayzee McCright. Swayzee is her maiden name. Her family is distantly related to actors Patrick Swayze and William Holden, plus television news anchor, John Cameron Swayze.

Her short story, Once Upon a Weekend, is a fractured fairytale she wrote for a charitable cause which fell through. Although she doesn't usually write fairytales, she was fond of the story and decided to release it through The Wild Rose Press, which also released Liquid Hypnosis.

Tina is known for her unexpected twists. Fallen Angel Reviews wrote, "The story (Liquid Hypnosis) has such a twist to it that when it happens you wonder how you didn't see that coming."

Title: Defiance

Author: T.L. Smith

She was promised to me.
I was promised to her.
She was the daughter of a drug lord, I was the cousin of one.
Together we could have been beautiful.
Oh, so beautiful.
But beautiful doesn’t factor into my life.
Death.
Destruction.
Pain.
That was my life.
She’d had her taste of it.
But was she really ready for it?
Because I lived in hell, and my wife would soon be Satan’s bitch.
She wouldn’t be prepared.
She could never be.

When Teigen is released after seven months under frigid and grueling conditions, he immediately joins Milorg—Norway’s Resistance—and becomes part of the Royal Shakespearean Acting Troupe, a traveling group of resistance workers under cover.

Big, blond, buff and beautiful men, with eyes the colors of seawater, and the wild, untamable blood of their Viking ancestors flowing through their veins. Do you feel it? The Hansen Men of Arendal, Norway - whose stories extend from post-plague Europe in 1354 through the 1840s American western expansion - are just such heroes.

Title: Cracked Heart

Author: Michele Venne

The best fodder for the Muse are life’s events and circumstances. We all have had situations that molded us, forced us to grow, made us strong, even when we would have chosen an easier path, one with a lot less pain, hard work, and challenges. For me, writing has become a way of reflecting on life, a chance to process what happened, and an avenue for healing. I pondered the Japanese practice of wabi sabi, highlighting a crack in a jar or pot and often filling it with gold or other precious metals, while compiling the poems in this collection. The fractures formed during my journey have been filled with my words written in poetry, short stories, and novels. If these poems incite your own reflection and healing through creativity, I invite you to read the section on utilizing writing to record your poetic thoughts on a life.

Jenn Windrow loves characters that have a pinch of spunk, a dash of attitude, and a large dollop of sex appeal. Top it all off with a huge heaping helping of snark, and you've got the ingredients for the kind of fast paced stories she loves to read and write. Home is a suburb of it's-so-hot-my-shoes-have-melted-to-the-pavement Phoenix. Where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and a slew of animals that seem to keep following her home, at least that's what she claims.

Jenn's Urban Fantasy, EVIL’S UNLIKELY ASSASSIN won the RWA Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal (FF&P), “On The Far Side” writing contest in July 2014, top 5 in the RWA Desert Rose, “Realizing the Dream” writing contest, and finaled in the Houston Writers Guild annual writing contest in April 2014. It was also selected as first runner up in Writers Type’s First Chapter Contest in April 2013.

Her Paranormal Romance, STRUCK BY EROS placed first in the RWA’s Golden Pen Contest, third in the Ruby Slippered Sisterhoods Make it Golden contest, and fourth in the West Coast Romance Writers Beacon contest.

My First full length novel, Struck By Eros will be released Summer 2016.

Title: 7 Sykos

Author: Marsheila Rockwell/Jeffrey J. Mariotte

Detached from the world, how are seven psychopaths going to save it?

Phoenix is one of the most populated cities in America…but not for long. With a mysterious sickness spreading through the streets, two things are becoming very clear: there’s no cure, and it doesn’t necessarily kill you.

Instead, the so-called “Infecteds” have become a living plague, killing and eating everyone they come into contact with. Chaos is spreading, and no one is safe.

No one, that is, except for a group of psychos.

Somehow unaffected by the disease—and with promises of clemency for their monstrous pasts—a group of seven is sent downtown to hopefully find the cause of the disease…and therefore a cure. But when the asylum is the size of a city, it no longer matters who is running things.

Not when everyone is running for their lives.
